Josef Frank

Much like Marimekko's offerings, there's little designer Josef Frank has touched that I wouldn't gladly include in my life. This post is a reminder to myself to save up for some fabric and send them to my curtain maker (Tony).

I love all Frank's patterns, but there's just something about his circa 1940s "Windows":

Windows textile from Svenskt Tenn

Bathroom photo from Sköna Hem

Round Windows Tray from Svenskt Tenn

Windows used as a room divider in Domino Magazine

It just looks like spring.

I just happened upon your blog when I found your supercool clocks on etsy...you guys are doing some amazing stuff! It's all terrific inspiration for me, a new homeowner (next door in Roslindale, actually!) who is *obsessed* with color and mid-century modern design. Glad to see that there are others out there who feel the same way :). Seriously, though -- it's like your blog posts are reading my mind! Wishing Chroma Lab all the best for 2011 -- who knows, maybe we'll run into each other picking up Benjamin Moore paint at Yumont Hardware (though I prefer Harris Paint in West Roxbury -- those guys are so nice)!

Cheers,
Heather

I absolutely love Josef Frank. I have a search saved in ebay so I know when anything comes up as listed. But its not easy to come by. People hold onto that fabric!!

Thanks for the roundup - put a smile on my face!!

Hez, I'm so glad you stopped by the blog! Thank you for your kind words and congrats on the new house in a great neighborhood. It's great to know you share our love of color! Hope to see you at Yumont. :)

Chelsea, thanks for your comment. I've never saved a search on eBay--that's genius! I wish you tons of Josef Frank auction luck and juju.
