Patternity

A friend recently introduced me to Patternity, a UK-based studio and blog dedicated to all things patterned. If you need some inspiration and order for your tired eyes, check out the many categories on the blog and click through at random. Here are some of my favorite patterned finds:

By the way, Supermarket Sarah is currently selling Patternity goods!

Blog It Forward: What Inspires Chroma Lab

Welcome to Chroma Lab! If you're joining us from Blog It Forward (thank you Ami of Charm City Daily for pointing you our way last Friday), let us take a moment to introduce ourselves--we're Alicia and Tony of Chroma Lab, a Boston-based company that provides vibrant, modern color for your home through hand painted furniture, wall treatments, and clocks.

We love color--it's in our name! Color is what inspires both our everyday lives and the work we do for our company. We believe color has the potential to be truly invigorating and life-changing. For our post, we want to highlight a worthwhile non-profit organization that shares our philosophy. If you aren't familiar with it already, meet the exquisitely colorful and inspiring Publicolor!

Based in New York City, Publicolor is a non-profit organization who "use[s] color, collaboration, design, and the painting process to re-engage students in their education, schools, and communities, to ultimately transform them into productive members of our workforce."

Students and volunteers work together with Publicolor to transform run down, under-served schools with invigorating fresh coats of paint. The founder, Ruth Lande Shuman, believes that "simply transforming an environment through thoughtfully-chosen colors will transform attitudes and behavior." We couldn't agree more; that's why we started Chroma Lab!

Their site offers tons of information about what the organization does, including some inspiring before and after photos of schools that have had the transformational Publicolor treatment:

And there's color games on the site, too:

Wouldn't it be fun to caravan down to NYC and volunteer for the weekend? Laying down huge strokes of saturated color ranks very high on our list of satisfying things to do; to do it for kids who need a colorful boost would be just over the top goodness, don't you think?

Tomorrow, head on over to Citrus Hearts, where Bree blogs about what inspires her.
