Coralie Bickford-Smith

With all the e-reader devices out there looming, I find it increasingly satisfying to seek out special books for my shelves at home. I don't know any book or design enthusiast who hasn't been thrilled with Coralie Bickford-Smith's beautifully designed hardcover Penguin classic editions. I've been collecting my favorites one at a time and now I've added a few more to my wish list with her F. Scott Fitzgerald series:

Any one of those patterns would be amazing on a wall or floor, right?

PS Sadly, I just read that the "Gatsby House" on Long Island Sound is set to be razed and developed.

Oh I am super obsessed with this series. It really shouldn't effect my buying decisions as much as it does, but I totally judge books by there covers. Thankfully great designers are starting to rethink the "look" of the classics. Thanks for reminding me of these beauties! (I might have to get a set for myself! Can you register for books on your wedding registry, haha?)

I have no idea what types of things are registry-approved, but you could always categorize these books as "decor." :)
